Children love to learn about Jesus. They want to know that God loves them and has a very special plan for each of their lives. That is what we do each week in the Live Oak Tree House Club. Children are introduced to the Bible as God's love letter to them and they are encouraged to not only memorize key passages, but to apply the truth of each verse to their everyday lives. The children are challenged with various studies and projects to help them understand that we are to love one another. With hands on activities and lively discussions the stories of the Bible come alive in a safe and loving environment.
Spring 2010 Tree House Update:
Our children are off to a great start in 2010! They had a huge part in our Christmas production, performing for a record crowd, and now are busy raising money for an orphanage in Africa. Visitors are encouraged to join in the fun! Here is just a taste of what our children have been up to:
- Christmas Memories Theatrical Production- This was a wonderful production that our children had been busy preparing for. It was a fun variety show that a record crowd enjoyed! Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make this a success!!!
- Flower Mound Christmas Parade - Our boys and girls walked alongside our float in this annual town parade and helped hand out flyers and candy canes along with huge smiles. This year our fabulous puppet friends performed on the float. We were honored to win best parade float!
- Fundraising Challenge - Our 5th graders challenged the other children to raise money for an Orphanage in Africa. Through a bake sale money was raised for this cause - over $200. It is still on-going and the challenge to raise more money is still on! Will the younger kids rise to the challenge?
- Sunday Morning Teaching - For the Winter/Spring 2009/10 Season, Tree House Club Members will be learning about the story of Jesus' life from before His birth up through His teachings. Included will be passages from the books of Luke and John. The lessons are filled with activities, puppets, and music! All are invited to join in this adventure of learning about Jesus.
- Puppets - Our puppet team has been teaching us new songs, leading us in worship, and sharing skits which teach important life lessons.
- Baptism - Praise God that another one of our young men has accepted Jesus and will soon be baptized.
As we move ahead into the new year, our goal in the Tree House Club remains a priority: to share with boys and girls the wonderful truth that God has a special plan for each of their lives. Every week is different in content, but always consistent in warm fellowship. Volunteer teachers lovingly present stories from the Bible and application for the things kids face in today's changing world. We invite all children to join us in this exciting adventure!
