Children love to learn about Jesus. They want to know that God loves them and has a very special plan for each of their lives. That is what we do each week in the Live Oak Tree House Club. Children are introduced to the Bible as God's love letter to them and they are encouraged to not only memorize key passages, but to apply the truth of each verse to their everyday lives. The children are challenged with various studies and projects to help them understand that we are to love one another. With hands on activities and lively discussions the stories of the Bible come alive in a safe and loving environment.
Tree House Sunday Morning
Here is just a taste of what our children have been up to:
- The Birthday Jar- The students started a special project this year concerning birthdays. In the month of their birthday the child brings money for the Birthday Jar. We will save the money until Christmas and then use it to do something kind for someone in need. We will decide on how we will bless others with these funds at the birthday party for Jesus in December.
- Sunday Morning Teaching - Tree House Club Members will be learning about the life and ministry of Jesus. The lessons are filled with activities, puppets, and music! All are invited to join in this adventure of learning.
- Puppets- Our puppet team has been teaching us new songs, leading us in worship, and sharing skits which teach important life lessons.
- Baptism- Praise God that so far this year several of our young people have accepted Jesus and were baptized.
No matter the activity, our goal in the Tree House Club remains a priority: to share with boys and girls the wonderful truth that God has a special plan for each of their lives. Every week is different in content, but always consistent in warm fellowship. Volunteer teachers lovingly present stories from the Bible and application for the things kids face in today's changing world. We invite all children to join us in this exciting adventure!
Upcoming Events
December 4 - Children's Christmas Store - Students will use their Bible Bucks to do a little Christmas shopping for their family members and friends.
December 9 - Parent Night Out - Parents of our children are invited to have a night out for a dinner date or an evening of shopping while the kids enjoy their own fellowship. The evening includes a "Hot Dog Supper," a movie, games and a special treat. Put it on your calendar right now.
December 18, During our regular Sunday School hour, we will celebrate the birth of Jesus in some very special ways.
Expressions
Expressions is an interpretive dance and drama ministry for children 3rd-5th grades. Current classes are held at 4:450 pm on Wednesdays (please check our calendar link). Performances will be shared during worship services and at community events. Guys and girls are needed so don't miss this exciting opportunity to experience worship in a deep and meaningful way.
